| Why We Provide Scholarships Suppose as you read the life of Christ in the New Testament, you come across an incident in which a father approaches Jesus and says, “Please heal my son.” Suppose Jesus had replied, “MasterCard, Visa, or American Express?” In other words, Jesus wanted compensation first. Such an incident would change the gospel and your image of Jesus Christ. For that reason, we adjust our costs to make our ministry available and offer scholarships even if a person in crisis is unable to donate to the ministry. However, we live in a world where the laws of economics are not suspended. We balance a ministry model of ministry with a business model, acknowledging that a part of our Christian witness is to pay our bills on time. In addition, we balance our budget. Thanks to some people who help support the ministry financially, we have sustained an active ministry since 1983. We are committed to not refusing help because someone is in a financial crisis.
